329 employees to be laid off when maintenance plant closes at IND airport

Aviation maintenance company AAR will close its Indianapolis facility, laying off 329 workers a month after a $78 million acquisition. AAR Aircraft Services, the largest heavy airline maintenance provider in the country, plans to close its Indianapolis facility at the Indianapolis International Airport by February 2027 and lay off about 329 employees in phases throughout 2026 and 2027. The Illinois company provides maintenance, supply chain and engineering services to commercial airline and government clients. The layoffs will begin on Feb. 15, 2026, 2027, and will continue through February 20 27. All employees will be given 60 days notice prior to their separation date.
