This week marks Holy Week for millions of Christians around the world – a time of reflection, fellowship and rejoicing. Locally, Light of the World Christian Church, pastored by Rev. Janae Pitts-Murdock, will host a series of uplifting events for all to enjoy.

This explosive weekend kicks off on Friday, March 29 at 7 p.m. with a musical portrayal of “The Passion” featuring the University of Arkansas Inspirational Chorale.

The mission of the Inspirational Chorale, directed by 2021 GRAMMY Music Educator of the Year recipient, Dr. Jeffrey Murdock, is to keep the Black sacred music tradition alive. The ensemble provides a forum where university students, regardless of ethnicity, can perform the various genres of the tradition. The Inspirational Chorale has enjoyed an illustrious reputation while performing for dignitaries and heads of state and the group regularly tours both domestically and internationally, recently traveling to Ireland, China, and Jamaica.

“This is a must-see, don’t-miss event for anyone who enjoys a creative and captivating display of talent. This production is an annual event at the University of Arkansas, and we are honored to bring it to Indianapolis this year,” said Pitts-Murdock.

On Sunday, March 31 at 10:30 a.m. the Chorale will accompany Light of the World’s Music & Sacred Arts ministry in offering a power-packed praise and worship experience followed by a message of hope from Pastor Janae Pitts-Murdock.
