Indiana has been awarded over $400 million in federal grants for the largest expansion of rural broadband in state history. The Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment program, which was first approved by Congress in 2021, originally allocated $868 million to Indiana but was limited to spending about half due to changes made last year. The new round comes as Indiana has completed signing contracts with 24 internet providers for roughly $418 million in Federal grants.
