Ballard calls on Gov. Braun to intervene in election commission dispute
Indiana Secretary of State candidate Greg Ballard has called upon Gov. Mike Braun to compel the Indiana Election Commission to meet. Indiana Secretary of State candidate Greg Ballard has filed a lawsuit to compel the Indiana Election Commission to meet to discuss finance complaints ahead of the November election. The move comes after a judge denied Ballard's request to settle open finance complaints against candidates Beau Bayh and Max Engling. Four campaign finance complaints are currently pending before the commission, one of which concerns a $60,000 donation from a political action committee called Hoosier Leadership for America to Republican Max Engled's campaign. Ballard, an independent running under the Lincoln Party label, believes the commission has chosen an unfair course of action to protect the two major parties and maintain their dominance. He has urged Gov. Mike Braun to act in the best interest of Indiana voters.
