The newest box was installed at Franciscan Health on the south side of Indianapolis last week. Franciscan Health in Indianapolis has dedicated its 126th Safe Haven Baby Box, a safe place for mothers to safely surrender their newborns. The newest box was installed at the Center for Women and Children on the south side of Indianapolis. The donation was made through the generosity of Indianapolis residents Nanci and Carney Likens, who wanted to "pay it forward" for all the help they've received from Franciscan health over the years. The box is located outside Entrance Door #2 at 8111 S. Emerson Ave. When a newborn is placed into the box, a silent alarm alerts staff to respond and help the baby. There are now over 200 Safe Haven Babies in the United States, including 126 in Indiana.
