Certus Medical Plans Westerville Office, Training Lab

An Indianapolis orthopedic company is building a cadaver lab and adding 45 jobs in Westerville. An Indianapolis orthopedic device and services company, Certus Medical, is planning to relocate to Westerville, Ohio, with plans to create 45 high-paying jobs and build a surgical training facility for hands-on operating-room instruction. The expansion is expected to create $7.31 million in annual payroll and increase the company's staff by 75%. The company has received a 1.7% tax credit from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority for the project. The new office will primarily serve clients in the Midwest and East Coast. The 5,000-square-foot facility is designed to allow surgeons to gain hands-in-training with the latest technology while developing highly skilled clinical talent. The move comes as part of an effort to maintain continuity of clinical support for Ohio hospitals and surgical teams. The company's president, Zac Gerdts, said Ohio surgeons and hospitals deserve the best clinical support.
