A program in Indiana is allowing high school students to get hands-on experience with the election process. A program in Indiana allows high school students aged 16 and 17 years old to participate in the election process on Election Day, allowing them to see the voting process closely. Students who meet certain requirements can be poll workers beginning this year, who will be excused from school on election day and will also be paid like other poll workers. Students will be required to have at least a 3.0 GPA and will need approval to miss school. The Hoosier Hall Pass program aims to give teenagers an up-close look at the voting processes and train them.
