Hoosier teenagers can now work as paid election day poll workers

16 and 17 year old Indiana high school students are now eligible to work as paid poll workers on election day. A program in Indiana allows 16 and 17 year olds to participate in the election process as paid election day poll workers, starting this year. Students will be exempt from school on election day and will be paid like every other poll worker. The Hoosier Hall Pass will allow students to see the voting process up close and require students to have at least a 3.0 GPA and to miss school due to these requirements. Students also need approval to leave school during election day. For more information on permission forms and pay ranges, click here.
