19-Year-Old Muslim Man Killed During Shooting on Indy’s Northwest Side
Police are searching for the person who shot and killed 19-year-old Aliou Barry earlier this month. Aliou Barry, a 19-year-old Muslim man, was shot to death on the northwest side of Indianapolis earlier this month while sitting in his car in a parking spot on Lafayette Road. Despite police responding within minutes, Barry died on the scene. The victim is being mourned by members of the Muslim community, with a Muslim prayer service held at a place where Barry worshipped since his young age. While the case is ongoing, IMPD has stated that the motive for the homicide remains a mystery. So far, no arrests have been made in the case.
