Foote's time was 18.87 seconds, which he used as the leadoff leg of the 200 freestyle relay. The team finished in a season-best time of 1:16.21, which is the second best in program history. Sophomore Baylor Nelson was eighth in the 200 individual medley and California senior Destin Lasco won in 1:39.34. Senior Victor Povzner was 13th and received honorable mention All-America honors for his performance in the 1-meter consolation final. The 10th-ranked Aggies are currently in 18th place on the second day of the four-day event.

INDIANAPOLIS – Texas A&M’s Connor Foote lowered his school record in the 50-yard freestyle as the leadoff leg of the 200 freestyle relay as the Aggies finished 16th in the event at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday at the Indiana University Natatorium.

Foote’s time was 18.87 seconds. Ben Scholl, Collin Fuchs and Seth Reno teamed up with Foote to finish in a season-best 1:16.21, which is the second best in program history. Florida won in 1:13.35.

Sophomore Baylor Nelson was eighth in the 200 individual medley (1:41.54) to earn his second All-America citation of the meet and fourth of his career. California senior Destin Lasco won in 1:39.34.

Senior Victor Povzner was 13th in the 1-meter consolation final with 358.50 points, picking up honorable mention All-America honors. Ohio State senior Lyle Yost won with 433.55 points.

The 10th-ranked Aggies are in 18th place after the second day of the four-day event with 21 points. Arizona State leads with 201 points followed by Cal 169, Florida 161, Indiana 107, Texas 106, North Carolina State 98, Tennessee 86, Stanford 84, Auburn 67 and Virginia Tech with 61 rounds out the top 10.
