Celebrate the life of Helen Carpenter and join others in sharing memories, stories, and condolences. Helen Irene Carpenter, a 56-year-old woman from North Vernon, passed away on October 25, 2026. Born in May 1970, she was the daughter of James and Eva Jean (Campbell) Shepherd. She married Carl Carpenter in January 2012 and he survives. Helen was a high school graduate and worked for Vernon Liquors, cleaning homes and health care facilities, and was a bartender for the former Players Bar in North Vernon. She also enjoyed spending time with her family at yard sales and auctions, sewing, fishing, and playing cards and dice. In keeping with Helen's wishes, cremation is planned with no services to be held at this time.
